Emerald Ash Borer (Agrilus Planipennis) has posed a threat to the health of ash trees in Ohio since 2003. These pests have rapidly infested area ash trees, risking the health of nearly 4 billion ash trees over the past several decades.

Although the Ohio Department of Agriculture, Plant Health Division has taken steps to prevent the spread of these insects through firewood quarantines in the past, these quarantines have been lifted.

Fitzwater Tree and Lawn Care has made it a mission to prevent, treat, and eliminate the Emeral Ash Borer problem in Darke County, Preble County, and other surrounding areas for years. We have two certified arborists on staff who offer a great deal of knowledge in identifying infestations and treating them.

Nature can often take control, and we are here to help. Whether you own a home or a business, we can help. One of our arborists will gladly inspect your ash trees and offer you a free estimate of our services. A solution usually includes either treatment or removal.

If we determine your ash trees are healthy enough to save or not yet infested, there is still hope. Contact us today before it’s too late. Emerald Ash Borer infestations could take 3-5 years before you notice anything is wrong and the tree will die. The pests usually swarm between mid-May and September, while their larvae will hibernate and grow in the winter months. Adults are a metallic emerald color and 1/2 inch in length.

Our second solution is tree removal. We have well qualified, experienced crews who can remove dead or problem trees safely and efficiently at the direction of our certified arborists. We process the removed tree for you and offer a full service clean up to prevent any further infestation in the area.

We urge you to not delay. The estimate is free and you will be contributing to a proactive initiative in Ohio to prevent the spread of this unwanted pest.
